Description: This is my current concept for in-ship uniforms for the Space Force and Space Militia of the Colonial Republic. The design isn't really an interesting or unique one, but it satisfies three criteria:
- The suit is not loose, so it has less chance of snagging on things if the wearer needs to move about in zero gravity (most of the time there is a gravity field about, but there will always be situations where this is desirable).
- The suit is light and durable, and can be used as a short-term spacesuit when a helmet and airpack are added. The suit's color can change to a very bright green, useful during rescue operations.
- The patches on the suit use a similar technology to the futuristic swimsuits I've shown you. They allow for tools, electronics, maps and other items to attach to the suit, without the need for pockets (which could snag on things)
Unfortunately, real life just doesn't work well with big shoulderpads and lots of belts and buckles, which are an easy way to add visual interest, along with fabric folds. I'll look at ways to make the suit more visually interesting, but I expect the main way that will be accomplished is by the various tools and weapons that will be attached to the suit by the user.
